The Roosevelt Girls Bowling Team started practice on Monday, Nov. 6th and is gearing up for the 2017-18 season. Coach Steve Loew enters his 11th year at the helm and the Riders return some key members to the lanes and hope to make a run at CIML Metro rivals Lincoln and Ottumwa in the conference race.
Roosevelt finished last season 6-5 overall and 3-2 in the Conference. Leading the way for the Riders this season will be Payton Evans (171.5 average) and Teagan Loew (140.0 average). Loew, missed qualifying for last year's state meet by a mere three pins. The team returns multiple letter winners including four and will be able to rely on experienced upperclassmen.
Coach Loew commented, "After coming off our first ever state qualifying in 2015-16, we missed last year but hope to come back strong this year and make another state run".
Roosevelt opens the season on Nov. 21 at Val Lanes in a triangular against Dowling and Norwalk.
